What is lame.exe?

This file is part of LAME. It’s a hidden file. Lame.exe is usually located in the %PROGRAM_FILES% sub-folder and its usual size is 180,224 bytes.

LAME is a high quality MP3 encoder that is licensed under the LGPL (GNU Lesser General Public License). LAME development started in 1998 and the first version of LAME was a patch for 8hz MP3 encoder sources.  Today LAME is no longer a patch and it is considered one of the best MP3 encoders at mid-high bitrates and VBR.
